Membership Information

Since the Scudder Association of America began in 1912, family historians have been gathering information about the Scudder family, from its early roots in Kent, England to the American colonies in the 1630s and down to the 21st century. They created an extensive Scudder family history that is carried on today. With your membership you will become an active part of the continuation of passing that history on to the next generations.

The Association membership is divided into the following two classes:

A. Descendant Member
(i) A person of good moral character who shall agree to support the purposes of the Association and who is a proven direct lineal descendant of any known pre-1700 Scudder progenitor including Thomas (T), John (J), and Elizabeth (E) and Scudders whose ancestors originated in Kent county, England.

B. Associate Member
Any individual of good moral character who shall agree to support the object and purpose of the Association, but who does not yet meet the qualifications for Descendant Membership.

Please join as an Associate Member and then if you want to be considered as a Descendant Member, please submit a lineage form.
